Architectural Assistant or an Architectural Technologist

RGP are looking for an Architectural Assistant or an Architectural Technologist with good cad skills to work on new industrial, retail and refurbishment projects.

We are a well-established medium-sized London-based practice, with a varied portfolio of work across a diverse range of commercial sectors. We are a close friendly team of hands-on Directors, Architects, and skilled Technicians. Your role will encompass projects from start to finish, including preparing drawings and specifications, working collaboratively with a job runner. 

Roles & Responsibilities

• Working on numerous projects at all stages from inception to completion 
• Preparing designs and drawings for planning approval and building regulation consent
• Ensuring CDM requirements are satisfied
• Preparing detailed designs, working drawings and NBS specifications
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the latest statutory building legislation
• Working within a small team as projects require
• Reporting to the job runner on project progress
• Many projects are outside of London and may require travel.

Required Skills & Experience for Architectural Assistant/ Architectural Technologist

• RIBA Part II, or a CIAT qualification, or a university degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology 
• A UK work experience in a building design capacity, including experience of production information on a range of projects
• Good Design and presentational skills
• An understanding of working on commercial buildings
• Experience of working on contemporary new and refurbishment design and build projects
• Experience of working through a variety of RIBA stages
• Able to demonstrate a practical approach and experience of construction detailing
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations
• Good IT skills and working knowledge of Office 365 and MicroStation/ AutoCAD/Revit/NBS 
• Have a friendly approach and a willingness to work as a team player
• A willingness to absorb our culture and extend your skills whilst bringing fresh ideas and experience to our practice making a difference and contributing towards your career progression
• Applicant must be based in the UK and be able to show evidence of eligibility to work in the UK
• a driving license would be advantageous

Salary

• Up to £34,000 per annum commensurate with experience
