Location: London/Hybrid
Hours: 35 hours per week, full-time, permanent
We’re seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead our procurement operations, managing budgets, supplier relationships, and contractual agreements to ensure maximum value for our members.
About the Role
As the Head of Procurement, you will take charge of the procurement function, focusing on delivering cost-effective solutions and refining our supplier management framework. This standalone role, within the Governance & Legal Affairs team, requires a proactive, leader who can work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, adapt quickly, and prioritise effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement operations, ensuring optimal budget management and adherence to contractual agreements.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and risk management.
- Support tenders and negotiations, securing favourable terms and ensuring compliance with commercial standards.
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, building strong relationships across all levels.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) with extensive procurement expertise, ideally within a not-for-profit environment.
- Strong background in supplier relationship management, tender processes, and risk mitigation.
- Good knowledge of best practice procurement and contract management.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- High proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work independently with a solution-focused approach.
Desirable
- MCIPS Chartered or relevant CIPS qualification.
