Architectural Technician

We are seeking an Architectural Technician to join our team. With a focus on technical design, project coordination, and client interaction, this position requires a blend of skills and expertise. Their primary responsibilities involve translating the design concepts created by architects into detailed technical drawings and specifications that can be used for construction.
 

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory standards.
• Produce comprehensive construction documentation, including detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications.
• Review and evaluate contractor submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
• Research and select appropriate materials, finishes, and construction methods based on project requirements and budget constraints.
• Use BIM software to create and manage digital representations of the physical and functional characteristics of buildings.

Project Coordination

• Oversee the technical aspects of projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate with various teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
• Utilize advanced software and technology tools for drafting, modelling, and project management.
• Explore and implement innovative technologies to enhance the efficiency of design and documentation processes.
• Address and resolve technical issues that may arise during the various phases of a project.

Client Interaction

• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and preferences.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff members to maintain high standards.
• Present technical information and provide clarification to clients when necessary.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in REVIT and CAD software and other relevant design tools.
• Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and detailing.
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
