Based in the heart of Chichester, Smith Simmons & Partners is a multi-disciplinary practice of planning specialists and architects who collaboratively deliver inspiring projects.
We are looking for a passionate and engaging Associate Director to use their strong architectural and leadership expertise to play a pivotal role in assisting with our continued growth and positively shape our business.
Reporting to the Partners, this integral new role will lead on architectural projects and play a key part to actively support business development and client engagement. You will also use your leadership skills to manage and mentor our growing architecture team. To support our continued success, we are also currently recruiting for two further additional roles within the architectural team.
We are highly ambitious and since we established, we have substantially and sustainably grown both locally and beyond, particularly in the residential and commercial sectors. We have built an excellent reputation and are proud of our strong portfolio of exceptional and complex residential and commercial projects. We have predominately focused on creating inspiring traditional developments and are looking to expand our reach to include more sectors.
Whilst you will be experienced in numerous architectural typologies, you will be able to demonstrate a genuine creative passion and sensitivity for designing and delivering projects that will complement and enhance our portfolio. Strong experience within conservation and heritage settings is a distinct advantage.

In order to apply, it is essential that you meet the following criteria:
- Part 3 RIBA qualification.
- Current ARB registration/qualification.
- Extensive relevant (minimum of 7 years) experience post Part 3 qualification in a UK architectural practice.
- Strong and relevant experience at all RIBA stages.
- Strong design and technical skills.
- Strong experience and knowledge of UK construction.
- Relevant management / leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the confidence in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders.
- AutoCAD, Microsoft office, Sketch-up and Photoshop skills.
- Must currently be based in the UK and live within a commutable distance of Chichester or be willing to relocate.
- Must be able to show evidence of eligibility to work in the UK.
- Willingness to travel for site visits as and when required.
- Due to the requirement for regular site visits, many of which are in rural locations, you must have a full UK driving licence with your own or reliable transport.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience) + excellent benefits
Full time - 37.5 hours per week
