Cocoon Architects are on the lookout for a new team member to deliver sustainable homes for our clients.
This role is for someone who enjoys delivering personal, sustainable homes for private clients and small-scale developers, working both collaboratively and autonomously. We are keen to find an enthusiastic individual who we would be excited to support as our practice grows.
The role will be provided as a permanent and full time appointment.
We are based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. The role is expected to be a flexible working arrangement, hybrid between home and office-based. The degree of home/office-based work is open for discussion, and will be based partly on your level of professional experience.
What the role entails:
- Navigating projects through all RIBA work stages, from concept design to final completion;
- Intially the role will support the preparation of tender packages, but future projects will also create opportunities for concept designs and planning application development;
- Client liaison for design decisions, coordination with consultants and specialists, and delivery of technical information for tender submissions;
- During construction, the role may involve site attendance and managing contractor queries.
Our projects require different skills at different stages, providing a wide variety of the types of activities you will be involved in.
What we're looking for:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Experience in collaborating with clients, contractors, and industry professionals;
- Technical expertise in construction methods and materials, coupled with an in-depth understanding of building regulations, standards, and construction.
Minimum qualifications/experience:
- Part 3 Qualified Architect / Qualified Architectural Technologist;
- 5 years of experience in the technical design of domestic projects in the UK;
- Proficiency in Revit.
Preferred additional qualifications/experience:
- CIAT Registration;
- Proficiency/experience with Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop;
- Proficiency/experience with Enscape.
Skills can be taught, experience can be gained, but enthusiasm and motivation are key.
We are at an exciting time in the practice’s development and growth, and look forward to hearing from any interested applicants.
