We are seeking an outstanding individual with vision and experience to lead the continuing development of Architecture as Head of Architecture at Reading. The appointment as Head of Architecture will be for an initial term of 5 years, with an underlying permanent position as Professor of Architecture.  The position presents a rare opportunity to play a leading role in the evolution of a new research-intensive, growing School of Architecture in one of the world's top 200 universities.


Responsibilities are focussed on providing leadership to Architecture that supports the vision to integrate teaching, research and practice. There will be a strong emphasis on continuing to develop a growing discipline in a research-intensive environment.
 

You will have:

  • A passion for leadership, vision setting and delivery.
  • A commitment to collaboration and to developing others through effective leadership.
  • Experience in academic leadership.
  • Experience of research and teaching in a higher education context.
  • A profile of academic achievement and activity commensurate with a professorial appointment.
