RIBA is a global professional membership body, and a cultural organisation, driving excellence in architecture.

Salary: c£36,000 - £40,000 per annum, based upon experience and London location. £35,000 per annum based in our Liverpool Office.

Location: Hybrid working with two days a week in our iconic London office or Liverpool office, with flexibility regarding the rest of the week.

Hours: 35 hours per week, full-time, permanent

About the Role

To help grow the RIBA’s Membership base across all categories of membership through the employment of a wide breadth of recruitment tactics including direct sales, data entry and analysis of direct and indirect marketing.

  • Develop and deliver RIBA Membership’s recruitment plan to meet agreed annual targets.
  • Develop new business relationships to generate new income for RIBA Membership to meet agreed annual targets.
  • Proactively build a solid deliverable pipeline for new business.
  • Present to and convert new business through face-to-face meetings, events, direct communication, telephone and email to meet agreed annual targets.
  • Develop and manage initiatives and campaigns to raise the profile and awareness of the RIBA’s services to potential members.
  • Develop, manage and profile a comprehensive prospect database to ensure data is accurate and up to date.
  • Role model the RIBA values.
  • Take on any other work, as directed by the line manager.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Business Development experience in a sales environment, with the ability to demonstrate delivery against targets and the impact on bottom line figures.
  • Excellent knowledge of CRM database management.
  • Experience in presenting to and engaging with clients at a senior level to win business.
  • Strong communication skills in all forms – written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation.
  • Excellent questioning and listening skills to understand client needs.
  • Puts the customer first and has an outward facing approach to winning business.
  • Ability to consider opportunities to recruit new members and assess the risk or impact.
  • Ability to cross-sell where appropriate.
