About the Role
RIBA is a well-known and respected brand with over 56,000 members around the world. You may have seen our annual Stirling Prize for the UK’s best building on TV, read about our campaigning work in the national press, or seen a red signboard promoting RIBA architects on a construction site near you.
Following an extensive review of our brand, we have a new brand identity ready to roll out across our organisation – to ensure RIBA is positioned for the future and supporting our plans for growth.
We are seeking an experienced Brand Manager to deliver a large-scale 24-month project to implement our new brand across the organisation in the UK and key overseas territories. This includes the rollout of a new verbal and visual identity across all brand touchpoints.
You will lead the project to implement our new brand across the organisation, from websites and marketing collateral to our buildings, working with colleagues and stakeholders to instil a solid understanding of brand best practice and developing processes and plans for the brand’s ongoing guardianship and management. You will be supported by a Marketing Executive.
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret, apply and implement the new brand across our organisation
- Develop a detailed project plan and deliver the project to time and budget.
- Create the necessary project documentation, communication and education materials required for implementation
- Establish processes, brand protocols and governance procedures to deliver effective brand management.
- Ensure the brand guidelines are understood and adhered to
- Champion the brand – ensuring colleagues and stakeholders understand the brand, its purpose and goals
- Work with colleagues and stakeholders at every level to deliver the rebrand project, through communication, education and understanding
- Manage relationships with external agencies, consultants and suppliers
- Oversee development of creative including templates, marketing collateral and guidance for their use
- Brand guardianship – oversight of all materials and channels during the implementation project – ensuring all materials are on-brand
- Work with our Legal team to ensure the brand is trademarked in key territories
What are we looking for?
We seek an experienced and enthusiastic brand expert who has led organisational rebranding projects.
You should have:
- Thorough knowledge and proven experience in rebranding and brand strategy
- Extensive experience of project management on a similar project
- Significant experience in a brand role with excellent understanding of best practice brand principles, brand governance, brand management, brand architecture and brand guardianship
- Experience of senior stakeholder management in complex organisations
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to communicate with clarity and authority
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
- People and budget management experience
Experience or understanding of membership organisations offering commercial products and services and cultural activities would be advantageous. A business/marketing qualification is desirable.
