About the Role
The HOAP is an £85M complex and four year programme incorporating 5 workstreams (the HQ building, the transition decant space, Collections, Digital and Fundraising. Each workstream may have multiple projects within it, especially Digital. The HOAP is a programme that sits within the RIBA Group as a whole.
As part of the RIBA finance function, the Finance Manager will produce the HOAP monthly management accounts, quarterly forecast, annual Budget and 5-year business plan, which will include detailed and summary analysis, in numerical, graphical and written formats when required in collaboration with workstream budget holders and RIBA Group Finance Business Partners.
The post holder will also provide ad-hoc collaborative support to senior colleagues with updating financial forecasts after HOAP supplier contracts are signed, alongside assist with the costing and pricing of HOAP business cases, including appropriate cost-benefit analysis of both financial and non-financial aspects to ensure that they are realistic, comprehensive, achievable and that a post-implementation review is undertaken.
In addition, the role holder will work with RIBA’s Finance colleagues to help ensure that the finance system fully and accurately reflects the HOAP financial information, along with develop any bespoke reports relating to the HOAP financials, when required.
Finally, the post holder will ensure that the purchase-to-payment process relating to the HOAP operates effectively, which will include ensuring that POs are approved by HOAP budget holders and HOAP related invoices are coded and processed through the RIBA finance system on a timely basis.
What are we looking for?
- Significant experience in a Management Accounting, Finance Business Partner or Finance Manager role.
- Be able to support with budget preparation, long term business planning and supporting preparation of business cases for new activities. Ideally experience with large scale programmes.
- A qualified chartered accountant. Finance business partnering experience in developing different kinds of financial reports, using forecasting and historical financial information for various audiences.
- Experience handling the purchase-to-pay finance process, including raising purchase orders and coding and tracking of project invoices and costs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to tailor reports to their audience.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with using and writing reports from the Finance system Open Accounts is desirable.
- Experience of business case financials and funder reporting may also be required.
