RGP are looking for an experienced Architect or an Architectural Technologist with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, strong cad skills and a working knowledge of industrial retail and refurbishment projects.
We are a well-established medium-sized London-based practice, with a varied portfolio of work across a diverse range of commercial sectors. We are a close friendly team of hands-on Directors, Architects, and skilled Technicians. Your role requires that you take on responsibility for projects from start to finish, including preparing drawings and specifications, working collaboratively with a director. For some projects, you will be required to liaise directly with clients, consultants, and contractors; working collaboratively within an in-house team.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Working on numerous projects at all stages from inception to completion
- Preparing designs and submission for planning approval, building regulation consent
- Ensuring CDM requirements are satisfied
- Preparing detailed designs, working drawings and NBS specifications
- Overseeing projects on site including site inspections
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the latest statutory building legislation
- Ensure that the running of the project is kept within set financial goals and deadlines
- Working alone or within a small team as projects require
- Reporting to the Director on project progress
- Many projects are outside of London and will require travel.
Required Skills & Experience for Architect/ Architectural Technologist
- RIBA Part III Qualified, ARB registered, Architect or a CIAT qualification, or a university degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years’ UK work experience in a building design capacity, including extensive experience of production information on a range of projects
- Good Design and presentational skills
- An understanding of working on commercial buildings
- Experience of working on contemporary new and refurbishment design and build projects
- Experience of working through a variety of RIBA stages
- Able to demonstrate a practical approach and experience of construction detailing
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations
- Good IT skills and working knowledge of Office 365 and MicroStation/ AutoCAD/Revit/NBS
- Have a friendly approach and a willingness to work as a team player

- Applicant must be based in the UK and be able to show evidence of eligibility to work in the UK
- A driving license would be advantageous
