About the Role
Our Venues team market and sell meetings and event spaces at 66 Portland Place. It’s an exciting time in the Venues team, with active growth in the business, and upcoming changes for the use of the building. You will lead on the planning and organisation of a large portfolio of these bookings.
This includes booking, planning, running meetings and events for up to 400 guests, your role will be wide-ranging. You will deal with both corporate and private clients, working across key industries including financial services, media, retail and life sciences. Your portfolio will include conferences, meetings, parties, and seasonal packaged events – no two days will be the same.
You will be involved in contributing to the growth of the department’s turnover by applying post-contract sales techniques. You will also be both in the office and on-the-ground ensuring the highest visitor experience is delivered at all events in your portfolio, delivering 5-star service throughout, as well as fixing issues before they arise.
What are we looking for?
- Proven logistics, event planning and delivery experience with a passion for planning and delivering event services in a Heritage, Historical or Unique venue.
- A confident, driven team member with ability to work within financial constraints.
- A first-class communicator, with the ability to build and develop relationships, manage expectations, meet deliverables, and negotiate with clients and suppliers.
- A highly motivated, organised and target driven team player, also able to work as part of a wider team as well as taking responsibility for sole events.
- An education background in Business, Sales, Hospitality, Catering, or related subject would be advantageous.
- Experience with venue management systems, such as NFS Rendezvous, would be advantageous.
