Job Details

Associate level technician or technical architect with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience required for busy small West London practice working predominantly in Kensington & Chelsea. Our work is mostly high-end residential design for high net-worth end-user clients or developers. The projects are mostly full refurbishments with extensions and/or basements. We provide a bespoke service for clients acting as architects, interior designers, project managers and sometimes contractor. We usually work through all RIBA service stages including after-care.

We’re looking for a candidate with proven technical skills and experience to provide guidance on a number of projects simultaneously. The candidate should have strong Autocad and Revit skills and be comfortable in leading less-experienced team members through production of technical information. Good communications skills are essential as the role will include contact with clients, consultants and other team members. A good working knowledge of Building Regulations is essential along with the ability to resolve technical details and strategies. The ideal candidate will be as comfortable on site as they are at their computer. We offer plenty of opportunity to see projects through from start to finish and we aim to fine-tune our processes through the knowledge acquired on each completed project.

We offer flexible working hours to suit child-care or other needs and for this reason we offer positions on a self-employed basis. We are based near Gloucester Road tube station with the majority of our sites being within 2 miles of the office.

HELM was set up by Eric Gatch, a project manager, and Milan Nedelkovic, an architect. These two different backgrounds provide the basis for the considered approach to customer service and after-care that is the trademark of Helm.

Since 2000 they have completed nearly fifty projects together, including high-end residential, retail and office projects in Holland Park, Notting Hill, Mayfair, South Kensington, Belgravia and other Central London areas. Peter Dodds, also an architect, joined Milan and Eric at the beginning of 2019.

Our expanding office currently includes more then ten experienced professionals including project managers, interior designers and architects. This team manages a range of other consultants, contractors and sub-contractors to provide our end-to-end service for clients.
