Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Architecture (Ref.: 519423) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10 % of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

 

Applicants should possess a Master's degree in a design-based discipline with at least 1 year’s instructional experience in material technologies in practice or education.  They should be proficient in using computer-controlled fabrication machinery, including laser cutters, CNC milling machine, 3D printers, with experience in using and managing traditional wood/metal workshop machinery and power tools as well as robotic fabrication.

The appointee will perform academic and research-based duties, including teaching, writing grant proposals and applying for funding for new equipment and initiatives; provide technical, logistical and pedagogical support to teachers, students and researchers; provide support for the future planning and development of the Fabrication and Robotics Laboratories; and perform other duties as assigned.  The appointee will also work collaboratively with teachers, supporting staff, and students.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
