Our capital delivery building programme plays a hugely important role in reimagining and revitalising community buildings and spaces as genuine community assets. We are seeking talented property professionals to drive the delivery of the council’s ambitious capital building programme and ultimately help us tackle economic inequality and deliver a fairer place.

Main duties of the job

To lead on and manage through all RIBA work stages a portfolio of capital building projects/programmes with a combined value in the region of £10m.

Manage multi-disciplinary project teams of up to 20 individuals, consisting of highly qualified property professionals and other project delivery staff. Direct the work of all external consultants, in house staff and manage the performance of all project team members to drive the delivery of the council’s ambitious capital building programme.

To use your extensive property and construction project management knowledge, skills and experience of capital building projects to drive delivery and mitigate risks to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard, whilst achieving value for money and meeting the project milestones.

Working for your organisation

The Capital Delivery team comes under the Director of Corporate Landlord Services, which in turn sits under the Community Wealth Building directorate of the council. 

The Capital Delivery team is made up of a combination of Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and Principal Project Managers, all of whom bring their own personal professional skills and knowledge to the team ranging from Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Building Surveying and general construction professionals. The team is dynamic in its approach to delivering challenging and complex projects with a culture of team working and supporting each other.
