Job Details

Design Storey is looking for an Architect or experienced Part II to join our enthusiastic & friendly team

Would you like to develop your career working on a range of exciting new projects; from new homes and retrofits, to conservation projects, all with an emphasis on design?

Are you an architect looking to take the next step in responsibility for the delivery of projects, or a Part II seeking to gain the required experience in the technical and construction stages?

We are a young and ambitious practice focusing on high-end homes, heritage and lifestyle projects throughout the South West. Our bright, open-plan studio is located in the centre of vibrant Cheltenham which provides an ideal base to experience the Cotswolds and beyond. We are looking for applicants with excellent creative design and presentation skills with a good eye for detail and motivated to find the best solution for our clients.

We are passionate about providing career development for our team. We are a friendly office and will help you take a lead in developing projects with an emphasis on the technical and construction stages.  We encourage applicants from a broad range of backgrounds.

What we can offer you

  • The opportunity to be part of small team committed to delivering beautifully crafted architecture
  • A creative and learning environment with opportunities to work on all project stages, including construction
  • A salary that is equal or above the RIBA salary guidelines (£27k-40k, dependent on experience). with an annual bonus
  • Financial support for part II students to complete their studies

If you’re interested in this position, please submit your CV, a small portfolio and a covering letter detailing your specific experience, and telling us why you believe you are the right candidate for this role

We are an award-winning architectural practice based in the Cotswolds. Inspired by the unique context of each project, we enjoy creating thoughtful site-specific designs and developments that enhance the urban or rural environment. Our approach has been recognised by the RIBA awarding the Miner’s Cottages the South-west conservation award in 2017.

Formed in 2013 by Architect Lydia Robinson and Project Manager Lawrence Grigg, we are a young, enthusiastic and personable studio that feel able to rise to any challenge and like getting our teeth into tricky architectural issues in a variety of building types. We work on a diverse range of projects from the creative reuse of existing buildings and conservation work through to new build construction.
