Hours: 35 hours per week, full-time permanent role

We’re seeking a highly motivated Media and Communications Officer, with experience of devising and delivering impactful external communication campaigns to engage our members and all those with an interest in architecture.

About the Role

As our Media and Communications Officer, you will join a team that manages and builds the reputation of the RIBA, architects, and architecture. You will work on high profile and impactful external communication campaigns and partnerships for a diverse range of programmes and activity. From drafting punchy responses to political developments to developing proactive campaigns to promote the value of using a Chartered Architect – you will be crafting the tactics and key messaging for our website, social media, press releases and stakeholders, and ensuring the news lands with our audiences around the world. You will also monitor and evaluate the impact of our work, and share insights and intelligence with the team, our trustees, and partners.

What are we looking for?

  • With experience of delivering effective proactive external communication campaigns, you will be able to spot opportunities in the news agenda for promoting our work and help us to grow and diversify our audiences.
  • A creative and credible individual, you’ll work closely with colleagues, as well as our external partners, which will require relationship building and stakeholder management.
  • You will be able to prioritise and manage your own workload, have excellent verbal communication skills, and have the ability to distil detailed information to write accurate and engaging copy and statements.
  • You would ideally have a strong interest and/or understanding of architecture, the creative industries, or the built environment.
