The Publishing Coordinator provides essential administrative support to The RIBA Journal and the publishing department.

About the Role

RIBA is seeking a highly organised and resourceful Publishing Coordinator to provide administrative support for its publishing department. Activities in the publishing department include books and journals publishing, books’ retail, sponsorship and a jobs board.

A significant amount of the coordinator’s time will be dedicated to working directly with the editorial team on The RIBA Journal (RIBAJ). A leading professional publication, RIBAJ publishes content daily online and has the largest print circulation of any architecture magazine in the UK.

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in publishing and the architectural sector and brings with them some administrative experience, while being highly motivated and eager to learn new skills. An independent worker is required who enjoys being part of a dynamic and creative team.

Wondering what we are looking for?

  • Administrative experience, such as raising purchase orders and tracking budgets
  • Willingness to develop new skills, such as those required for the journal’s content management system
  • A working knowledge of clearing image and text permission for publication would be advantageous
  • Requires excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills
  • A team player with initiative, who is willing to collaborate and learn
  • A keen interest in the architectural sector and publishing.
