About the Role

RIBA is seeking an energetic and resourceful Public Programmes Assistant to help support the delivery and administration of its exhibitions and events programme, a key part of RIBA’s new House of Architecture plans: https://www.architecture.com/about/House-of-Architecture

RIBA is a leading national voice for architecture, creating world-class exhibitions and events programmes for both a specialist audience and for the broader public. At our RIBA headquarters at 66 Portland Place we have three galleries for architecture, and events spaces. We host some of the biggest names in architecture, alongside emerging talent, for lectures and talks in our unique venue in central London, alongside working with other cultural partners on exciting onsite and offsite events.

We are looking for someone keen to start a career in public programming, who will undertake a variety of administrative duties for the public programmes team and support with the delivery of a wide range of engaging and thought-provoking public events. A key part of the role is to oversee the administration of events, including liaison with the marketing and content teams and other internal stakeholders, liaison with external partners, managing our online bookings, booking travel for speakers and minuting meetings, as well as evaluation of our overall public programmes. You’ll be present for our key events, usually at 66 Portland Place but occasionally elsewhere, helping ensure all runs smoothly.

Wondering what we are looking for?

The successful candidate will have experience in a range of administrative duties within a busy office.

  • Your organisational skills and methodical approach will allow you to work on several tasks simultaneously, and you’ll be able to prioritise effectively.
  • You will have a good standard of written English, sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and solid communication skills. Ideally, you’ll have an interest in architecture and/or cultural programming and a willingness to learn and develop in the role.
