Senior Architectural Technician

Reference: NHNEW144

Location: Newcastle

Salary: £32,000-£40,000 (dependent on experience)

An exciting opportunity has now become available for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join an award winning AJ100 practice. They work on a large range of projects across a variety of different sectors including, Residential, Commercial, Education and Healthcare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects through all RIBA stages and building and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors, and Local Authorities. The desired candidate will be design focused and have experience working as an Architectural Technician in a UK based practice.

Skills and responsibilities for this Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist:

  • Maintain a competent working knowledge of current and pending legislation affecting the production of technical information
  • Good understanding of Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, Health and Safety guidance in relation to managing projects.
  • Manage the production of detailed design drawings, working drawings, schedules, and specifications
  • Assist with the mentoring of junior members of the technical team on all aspects of technical delivery.
  • Notify the Directors of potential PI claims or issues that require their review

Essentials needed for this Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp.
  • HNC/HND in a related discipline or can demonstrate significant relevant experience
  • Ability to manage workload effectively, make clear decisions and meet tight deadlines
  • Membership of CIAT or working towards chartered status
  • Proven record of accomplishment of delivering multiple healthcare & mixed-used projects
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good organisational and presentational skills
