About the Practice

The Bazeley Partnership is an award-winning Practice, committed to creating and delivering high quality architecture.  Our main office is located close to the beach in the coastal resort of Bude, and from here our team of Architects and Technologists work across the whole of Cornwall and Devon, with some projects in London and the Southeast.

About the Position 

We are looking for either an Architect or Architectural Technologist to join our busy team of like-minded people.  We can offer a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with design freedom whilst developing the professional skills necessary to further your career, in a location that provides a very high quality of life.

The successful candidate will be assisting senior architects on larger projects, but also be responsible for the day to management of their own projects.

The role will include: 

Working within a small, collaborative, design team to assist in the delivery of projects across all RIBA Work Stages.

Preparation of background site research, including photographic studies, site appraisals, and measured surveys.  

Preparing and assisting in the production of drawings, visualisations, schedules and reports.

Preparation of technical information for building regulations and tender documentation, for a range of architectural projects including new and existing buildings.  

Coordinating and liaising with clients and third-party consultants.  Sharing daily office tasks, as required. 

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for an ARB/RIBA qualified architect, with proven UK based experience of working in the private and/or public sector for a minimum of 3 years post Part III, or 5 years as a Technologist. 

The ideal candidate will be a confident, organised and pro-active individual, capable of working independently or as part of a team, with a willingness to learn, whilst paying attention to detail and completing work to a high standard.  

Key requirements include:

Experience of time spent working on large, medium and small-scale residential and commercial projects, including developing a scheme from concept through to completion.

A proven ability to manage projects, working to timescales and project deadlines Good communication skills, able to speak to clients and colleagues confidently.

Solid working knowledge and understanding of UK planning policies and building regulations.

A design flair and confident freehand skills Excellent skills in AutoCAD.

Revit and SketchUp would be advantageous, but not essential.

A high degree of proficiency in the use of Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.

Ability to produce high quality reports and presentation material.  Knowledge of visualisation software would be beneficial

Full UK driving licence
