Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.

The RIBA is a global professional membership body, and a cultural organisation, driving excellence in architecture.

Salary: up to £70,000 - £75,000 p.a.

Location: Home-based

Hours: Full-time hours, 6 months fixed term contract

The RIBA are completely reshaping how they connect with more of their members.  The role of Interim Director of Membership Experience will lead the team of 5 Regional Directors across England and Wales.

This is an interim role for 6-months. The role will report into the newly appointed Executive Director for Membership who starts in September. A handover will be possible with the incumbent post-holder prior to their departure in mid-July.

There is the potential that this Interim post may become permanent – so the RIBA are interested in candidates who are either i) interested in interim-to-possible-perm, alongside ii) interim-only applicants.

This is a home-based post, anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel to London.

Salary range is up to £75,000 (annualised). The staff benefits package includes (a) employer pension contributions (up to 12%), (b) life assurance, (c) annual leave of 26.5 days plus bank holidays and 3.5 discretionary days between Christmas and New Year.

What is vital, is that applicants:

  • are membership experts (from a professional body or trade association setting). Marketing campaign experience would be advantageous
  • experience in developing strategies and business plans for membership growth and retention
  • have strong leadership skills, with demonstrable experience of managing a remote management team
  • have strong experience of driving through major business change
  • have experience in senior stakeholder relationship management
  • have evidence of collaborating effectively with others, and looking flexibly at the wider team resource
  • are immediately available, or up to a maximum of c. one month’s notice period

The RIBA offers employees a range of staff benefits including 26.5 days of annual leave + half-day for Christmas shopping, paid closure between Christmas & New Year, season ticket loan and generous pension scheme. For more details on our benefits click here.
