Job Details

Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.

Location: London/Hybrid

Terms: Competitive Package

The RIBA is a world-renowned, global organisation that operates as a professional membership body and a registered charity. We seek to bring architecture alive for the public, both in the UK and across the globe, encouraging people to engage with architecture, promoting education and training that will enhance the built environment, and supporting members and others to deliver better buildings and places, stronger communities and a sustainable environment. Inclusivity, ethics, sustainability and promotion of the highest professional standards underpin all that we do as together we seek to address some of society’s biggest challenges.

The world is changing at pace and it is imperative that we change with it, influencing the diversity not only of the RIBA, but of the global profession we support to maximise its relevance and impact. As our new Director of Inclusion & Diversity, you will play a vital role in enabling the RIBA to achieve this vision, applying personal subject matter expertise and lived experience to set and deliver an ambitious inclusion and diversity strategy that extends far beyond our organisational boundaries. It is imperative that diverse new entrants join and remain in our fascinating and important profession, so your ability to positively build strong member and stakeholder relationships to influence working cultures in which everyone can thrive will be key to success.

We are looking for a highly credible and experienced inclusion and diversity professional who has performed a similar role elsewhere, and who is able to demonstrate their contribution to a measurable step change in the diversity of a profession or large-scale, distributed organisation. Whilst prior exposure to membership and/or professional bodies or the built environment will be beneficial, we’re open minded regarding your background. There are lessons to be learned from other sectors, and we want you to bring new and valuable perspectives that will demonstrate the value of inclusion and diversity and make a positive difference. Above all, we are looking for a leader and team player with the ability to improve, inspire and make a difference.

If this sounds like the challenge for you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Additionally, please ensure that you complete our Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form which will be submitted separate from your application.

Closing date: Friday 15 July 2022 – 17:00hrs

The RIBA aims to be an inclusive employer, committed to developing a varied and mixed workforce where all are encouraged to be themselves. We value applications from all sections of society and welcome requests for flexible working across our organisation.
