Project Architect

LA architects are one of the UK’s foremost sports and leisure architects but with a significant portfolio of civic buildings such as arts and libraries. We employ a collaborative and inquisitive approach to design, driving up quality without compromising budgets and programme.  

We have an approach that asks the questions why and for whom are we really designing and this leads to successful and popular buildings that are in the end also commercially successful.

Our work is now expanding into socially based homes for communities and health care, and our work is taking place across the UK and overseas, with an embryonic office in Sweden and a presence in Wales and Scotland.

In order to pursue our managed growth, we are seeking a talented and passionate fully qualified ARB registered Project Architect who will be involved in complex and exciting projects from RIBA Stages 0 – 7, taking a key role and working closely with the project Associates and Directors.

Skills we require:

•          Understanding of all forms of construction technologies; 
•          Clear and concise communication skills; 
•          Attention to detail; 
•          High levels of Revit competency
•          Knowledge of Building Codes; 
•          Understanding of sustainability and construction of LZC projects
•          Good writing skills and levels of business English 
•          Creativity and ambition; 
•          Ability to manage responsibility
•          Ability to collaborate 
•          Project Management skills
•          Ability to enjoy your work and the company of those around you

Qualifications:


Essential: Registration with the Architect’s Registration Board (ARB)in the UK
Non-Essential: Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)

Your work will include:

•  Use of Revit, Auto-Cad and other drawing, design and visualisation  software packages.
•  Meeting with clients.
•  Preparing and presenting work
•  Production of high quality detailed technical information and presentation documents.
•  Maintaining Project Management, Project Quality Plans and Project Execution Plans to see that projects meet deadlines, stay on budget, and adhere to the original vision for the design.
•  Writing NBS 
•  Managing and attending meetings with other professionals and contractors.
•  Co-ordinating the work of other consultants.
•  Making site visits and inspecting works
•  Answering and coordinating site queries and contractor queries generally.
•  Delivering compliant information, In terms of all current UK construction regulations
• Managing and assisting architects and assistants within the practice.
