The Role
We currently have an opportunity for an established Project Architect* with the necessary skills to work across all RIBA Stages (0-7) on new build and existing schemes. Good knowledge and understanding of CAD is essential; prior knowledge of Vectorworks would be helpful.
Day to day responsibilities include running a number of architectural projects of varying sizes concurrently, ranging from small scale works c. build cost £300k up to £5mil+. Project running responsibilities include liaison with clients; working through the RIBA work stages as per the client’s requirements/appointment agreement; liaising with consultants and specialists as required; managing client expectations throughout the process; taking on Contract Administration duties where projects go to site and running site meetings/preparing agendas and minutes where on-site assistance is required. Provide additional support for Directors/Associates. Larger projects are likely taken over from a Director, post Concept stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project running tasks, where jobs are at different stages, Project management
- Architectural design and detailing incl perspective sketches and visualisations
- Precedent studies
- Feasibility studies where appropriate to the project
- Architectural modelling and/or overseeing of others working on development models as well as final presentation models
- Tender packs and supporting information
- Conversations with suppliers/manufacturers/specialists etc.
- Coordinating drawings/detail information provided by others (SE/M&E etc.)
- Liaise with the local council (planning/building control)/independent inspectors/consultants (CDM/geotechnical/ecology etc.) throughout the life of the project as appropriate
- Site meetings and support; resolve queries arising on site
Additional Responsibilities:
- Taking responsibility for expansion of own material/construction knowledge
- Keeping up to date with changes to the Building Regulations/Planning Law
- Expanding knowledge of historic country houses and traditional house design principles to help inform the work we do
- Being mindful of the principles of conservation and having awareness of the many resources out there (English Heritage/SPAB etc) to be used throughout the design process
- Support project team and wider office team(s) when necessary
- Keeping timesheets and preparing project notes for invoicing (for Operations Director)
We are looking for a professional, proactive, and organised new addition to the team; strong attention to detail is essential. You should be comfortable working independently and communicating proficiently across all levels.
*Or we would consider a confident and experienced Project Architectural Assistant Part II with two years minimum practical experience.

Hours: 9:00am-17:30pm, working in house Mon-Fri
