Salary: £70k – 75k per annum

Location: London or Remote

Hours: 35 hours per week, Permanent Contract

This role leads the RIBA’s Education and Learning team, offering strategic direction in the development of education and learning policies and services, supporting entry to the profession and acting as an advocate for widening accessibility to architectural education and learning, and promoting standards of excellence.

This portfolio includes:

  • Management of the RIBA’s work validating architecture programmes, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Providing strategic direction to the expansion of the RIBA’s provision for young people and continued curriculum-linked development of the RIBA National Schools Programme, including the Architecture Ambassador scheme, and oversight of the usage of the Core Learning Centre at the RIBA.
  • Development of internationally renowned RIBA awards programmes to reward and recognize excellence amongst students, educators and researchers in both academia and practice, including the President’s Medals and the RIBA Research Awards.
  • Promoting excellence in architecture education and learning by developing projects and activities such as publications, talks, and events.

A key part of the role is to lead the development and implementation of education-related policy, supporting the work of the RIBA Education and Learning Committee, and acting externally as an ambassador for the RIBA, on a national and international stage, on education and learning issues.

The successful candidate will need to be a highly organised manager with excellent presentation and negotiating skills.  They will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of architectural education, gained either as an architectural educator or academic or by having held a senior role in an educational/learning organization.
