Kirkland Fraser Moor Architects are looking for a Part 1 or 2 architectural  assistant to join our expanding team. We are a small practice driven by a strong regenerative design ethic. Our projects have high degrees of low carbon innovation, and the successful candidate will gain extensive experience within this area.

Successful candidates will have graduated with a 2:1 minimum in their degrees and possess excellent design and communication skills as well as plenty of proactive enthusiasm. You will need to be confident, diligent, and approachable, with a good sense of initiative.

This is a great opportunity to get stuck into some fantastic projects with our dynamic team who we heavily invest in with attractive salaries and mentoring/education programmes. You will gain exposure to all RIBA stages whilst preparing for your Part 3 exams and case studies.

Please only apply if you meet the following criteria: 

  • You have a minimum of one year’ work experience post Part 1. Excellent design and presentation skills with a strong attention to detail. Fluent in AutoCAD, Photoshop and Rhino (knowledge of VRay would be beneficial) Experience in Adobe Creative Suite and Office Comfortable working with internal and external teams.

KFM is based out of Berkhamsted Hertfordshire which lies in the heart of the Chiltern Hills providing an excellent living environment. We operate a second base in Stratford, London E20, and you may be asked to travel between these locations.

KFM also operate D-Lab (www.d-lab.co.uk) a not-for-profit social enterprise which includes a makerspace. Ideally you will be comfortable being seconded as and when required during working hours to help with supporting architecture design programmes to the community. Experience in 3d printing, laser cutting, CNC routing and VR will be highly favourable. As a successful candidate you will be encouraged to make use of these facilities to further your making skills, build your portfolio and experiment with new ideas.
