Project Architect

Project Architect | Full Time Position

New British Design are looking for an experienced Project Architect to join our small but growing team at our practice in rural Devon, near Exeter. Applicants should ideally have at least 5 years experience in practice and experience across high-end and bespoke residential projects. The right person will have experience in managing projects across all RIBA stages, including excellent experience in delivering technical packages (Stage 4) and administering building contracts (Stage 5). 

New British Design are an RIBA award winning practice with our roots in furniture and craft. 2022 promises to be an exceptionally exciting year for us with a growing portfolio of bespoke on and off-grid residential projects across the UK.

Roles and Responsibilities

•           You will be responsible for leading on projects from concept through to completion

•           Working across all RIBA Stages

•           Production of drawing packages and specifications

•           Administration of building contracts (Stage 5)

•           Working directly with clients

Required Skills and Experience

•           Minimum 5 years experience working in the UK (Post-Part 3 qualification)

•           Experience in the running and delivery of high-end residential projects through all RIBA work stages with experience in Listed and Conservation projects

•           Knowledge of preparing NBS specifications desirable

•           Highly motivated and organised with a passion for contemporary architecture and cutting edge design

•           Strong work ethic with great initiative

•           A willingness to be flexible as required

•           The ability to work as a team or on your own

•           Proficient in Vectorworks, Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite as well as the ability to express ideas through hand-sketching

•           Ideally a proficiency in ArchiCad (training available)

•           Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English

•           Strong and creative presentation skills

•           Friendly and personable

•           Full UK driving license (own car essential)

•           Must like dogs
