Job Details

Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.

The RIBA is a global professional membership body, and a cultural organisation, driving excellence in architecture.

Salary: £25,088 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: London / Remote working (RIBA will be operating an office/home-working hybrid model)
Hours: 35 hours per week, full time – Permanent

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members.

A fantastic opportunity has opened to work with us in the RIBA Practice Department based in London, developing and co-ordinating the delivery of professional events in support of our members and Chartered Practices. The Practice team works to ensure that members have the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality architectural services through effective practice and business.

Key events include the annual Guerrilla Tactics Conference for small practices, the Smart Practice Conference now firmly focused on sustainable and climate-friendly practice, and the Future Leaders series for up-and coming architects. You will be essential for delivering these events to a high standard, variously online and face to face, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, speakers and customers. You will be facilitating meetings, oversee the production of associated event materials and recordings, drive the event promotion, monitor the budget and be the first point of contact for all professional events enquiries. You will also be delivering mentoring events, independently securing high-profile mentors, and flexibly support smaller one-off events as needed. Depending on your knowledge of the industry and the issues of concern to architects, you may be given the opportunity to contribute to the content programming.

The right candidate needs to be highly organised, efficient and able to work under pressure around the time of the events. They will enjoy engaging with people and be able to drive practical solutions when challenges arise. Knowledge of the architecture, design or construction industries is a plus, an interest in the practice of architecture a must.

You will have the following demonstrable experience:

Degree qualified (or equivalent)
Project, time and resource management
Track record of event management or a customer facing role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in the Office Suite including some data management
InDesign and photo editing skills highly desirable

In return we offer a great package, great working environment, great colleagues, and the chance to really make a difference. If you think you have what it takes to perform this role effectively, then we’d love to hear from you.

The RIBA offers employees a range of staff benefits including 26.5 days of annual leave + half-day for Christmas shopping, paid closure between Christmas & New Year, season ticket loan and generous pension scheme. For more details on our benefits click here
