Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established Planning and Environmental Consultancy based in Liverpool in their search to recruit a talented and ambitious Graduate Town Planner!
The company
My client's close-knit multi-disciplinary team specialise in infrastructure, primary renewable energy and wireless telecommunications and operate across both the UK and Ireland. The team provide a range of planning services that include planning applications, planning appeals, feasibility, public consultation, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and project management. The team also offer a range of bespoke planning technical services for infrastructure.
The role
The role will involve assisting the senior members of the team with a number of infrastructure applications, amongst many other tasks including the following:
- Assist on planning applications.
- Undertake background research, desk studies, site visits and preparing planning reports.
- Work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and external consultants.
- Ability to analyse planning policy and make recommendations to clients and colleagues.
- Liaise with Planning Authorities and other statutory bodies.
- Attendance at meetings with clients, project teams and other stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Ideally relevant post-graduate public/private sector experience.
- Good knowledge of the UK planning system.
- An RTPI accredited degree in a planning related field of study.
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Highly motivated and ambitious in fast pace working environment.
- Multi-task different projects and work activities.
- Work well with others internally and externally.
