Location: Remote working/London
Hours: 35 hours, full time, 4-6 month FTC

Right now, everything is digital, from our office set-up to our social interactions – there’s never been a better time to work in digital content. And at the Royal Institute of British Architects, we have an exciting opportunity to be part of our in-house Content team.

Do you have a passion for digital content design? Are you a champion of the user and their needs? Are you powered by data and audience research? Can you advise, influence and collaborate with subject matter experts to create excellent content?

If so, you’re just who we’re looking for.

We need someone who can work with colleague 'stakeholders' to produce briefs for our priority content projects, identify the best content solutions for both user needs and business objectives and execute them using our content management system, Sitecore.

As Content Lead, you will lead on cross-organisational content projects and digital products, be the product owner for our central website and advise on content design best practice.

This role will create content concepts and prototypes, communicating these with stakeholders, the Content team and project/product team.

You’ll establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, collaborating with them to understand their users’ needs, their strategic objectives, produce briefs and develop content solutions.

Taking advice from colleagues in UX design, SEO and web analytics, you’ll optimise site structure and information architecture to keep our content organised and in the right place, both for users and search.

Your role will be to respond to identifiable user behaviour and implement these improvements continuously. In addition, you will use user-centred content design and plain language to make sure we adhere to accessibility and inclusivity standards.

While the role is predominantly content-focused, you’ll also be comfortable communicating with development teams when needed – raising bug tickets, helping user-test the CMS and contributing data towards site upgrades and new functionality.

This role sits alongside another Content Lead, who is responsible for the content production flow, triaging and managing incoming requests, upskilling staff and coaching our Content Editors in best-practice digital content design.

As well as working alongside our other Content Lead and Content Editors, you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, using your content planning, design and implementation skills on a range of content projects and products.

The Content team collaborates right across the organisation and beyond the UK to collate requests and plan new initiatives, and to provide training to encourage all our contributors to improve their content.

This role is crucial in responding to the needs of the organisation, and would suit someone who can be agile, adaptable, strategic, diplomatic and knows the value of building communicative relationships with colleague-stakeholders to achieve excellent content together.

The RIBA offers employees a range of staff benefits including 26.5 days of annual leave + half-day for Christmas shopping, paid closure between Christmas & New Year, season ticket loan and generous pension scheme. For more details on our benefits click here
