We are a Guernsey based RIBA Chartered Practice looking to recruit an experienced RIBA Architect/PART II or MCIAT Technologist to join our team.
The practice has been established over 17 years and has grown organically over this time. We undertake a variety of projects from Housing Association work, complete house renovations, new build, small developments, and industrial/commercial work. The workload is interesting, & varied.
We are specifically looking for someone to work on our Housing Association projects & high end residential projects as this side of the business is growing.
We are a busy & dedicated team who work in a picturesque office location along the north coast of the Island.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Experience in preparing full Planning & Building Regulation applications.
• Have a full understanding of the UK Building Regulations and keep up to date with all changes (Guernsey Building Regulations very similar).
• Prepare CAD & BIM/3D CAD drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Excellent design, detailing and presentation skills.
• Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines & client’s expectations.
• Have a working understanding of JCT Contracts & Contract Administration.
• Run & manage residential and commercial projects from inception through to completion.
• Undertake site visits and complete contractor valuations for payment. Check contractors work for quality and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
• Relevant technical qualification (Relevant Degree/HND/HNC/RIBA Part 3 or at least RIBA Part 2 Diploma).
• A minimum of 5 years experience in role
• Ability to communicate effectively to other professionals and clients both internally and externally.
• Good communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive & organised approach to problem solving.
• To meet project deadlines within budget.
• Able to support and lead staff within the Team.
• Experience of running a project through all RIBA stages.
• A fluent use of Archicad, using and interpreting Point Cloud/Lidar software from our third-party land surveyor.
• A good understanding of NBS Specification (Training can be given).
• Ideally you will have already worked for a small/medium sized practice.
• Experience working on housing projects, ideally residential schemes & developments and some experience working on listed buildings would be useful.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and be efficient with time management in this regard.
Salary negotiable based on experience; £28,000 - £45,500, including pension from 2023, flexible working by agreement, discretionary bonus scheme dependant on individual and practice performance, time allocated for CPD, relocation packages etc.
