Freehaus is looking for an exceptional Project Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong project leading experience, with an ambition to lead multi-disciplinary teams on public facing projects and grow into a more senior role within the practice. They will have strong Microstation experience as well as a good working knowledge of Autocad and Revit, to help the practice as it moves towards BIM Level 2 capacity.

Currently, our studio is delivering: a series of educational spaces for the Clement James Centre, a new headquarters for The Africa Centre in Southwark, the refurbishment of 639 Tottenham High Road for social enterprise The Trampery, an innovation hub in Havering as well as number of other GLA Good Growth Fund projects, residential and workplace schemes across the country. The successful candidate will be involved on a number of exciting community-focused projects that will deliver youth programmes designed to keep young people in education, training and employment whilst raising aspirations and developing confidence.

The position requires the following essential experience:

  • ARB registration 5 years + post Part III experience,
  • Job running experience across all RIBA Stage 0-7 stages,
  • Contract administration experience and good working knowledge of construction contracts,
  • Have experience of fee writing and job winning,
  • Be confident in client facing and community stakeholder engagement roles,
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholder clients,
  • Strong understanding in construction details and building regulation compliance,
  • Microstation ready and a working knowledge of Autocad and Revit,
  • The ability to lead a design team and mentor others,
  • The ability to author reports and other written documents,
  • The ability to contribute to broader practice ambitions such as policy writing and bids.

Additional preferred experience:

  • Driving License / ability to travel outside of London
