Job Title: Principal Transport Planner

Office: Birmingham

Salary Range: £38,000 to £42,000

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Principal Transport Planner to join the office in Birmingham. You will be involved in managing a number of complex projects with the team and lead on the development and delivery of transport planning projects.

Person Specification

Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Planner with a thorough understanding of transport planning policy and delivery of projects to clients. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related subject (a masters degree in transport would be desirable) and sufficient experience within a private consultancy or local authority environment.

Criteria:

  • Significant Experience with Transport Statements, Assessments and Travel Plans;
  • Use of the TRICS database;
  • Setting up and running PICADY's and ARCADYS (Junctions 9);
  • An understanding of LINSIG and can carry this modelling out for different scenarios, understand what they are doing and why;
  • The principles of micro-simulation and strategic models/modelling;
  • Junction design (priority, roundabout, signals);
  • Project management skills with the capability to manage a wide and complex workload;
  • Used to working with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
