Job Title: Principal Transport Planner
Office: Birmingham
Salary Range: £38,000 to £42,000
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Principal Transport Planner to join the office in Birmingham. You will be involved in managing a number of complex projects with the team and lead on the development and delivery of transport planning projects.

Person Specification
Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Planner with a thorough understanding of transport planning policy and delivery of projects to clients. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related subject (a masters degree in transport would be desirable) and sufficient experience within a private consultancy or local authority environment.
Criteria:
- Significant Experience with Transport Statements, Assessments and Travel Plans;
- Use of the TRICS database;
- Setting up and running PICADY's and ARCADYS (Junctions 9);
- An understanding of LINSIG and can carry this modelling out for different scenarios, understand what they are doing and why;
- The principles of micro-simulation and strategic models/modelling;
- Junction design (priority, roundabout, signals);
- Project management skills with the capability to manage a wide and complex workload;
- Used to working with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
