Architectural Technologist Job in Putney, London

My client is looking to welcome an Architectural Technologist to join their RIBA chartered practice, where you will work from their quaint boat house office on the bankside of the Thames. Established over 40 years ago, the practice consists of 10 passionate and dedicated architects, designers, and technology professionals, who are committed to delivering elegant and considered designs. From innovative rail and transport work across the UK to state-of-the-art higher-education facilities, they apply rigour and attention to detail, to the design and management of all their projects. Their innovative and collaborative approach is also supported by their cutting-edge application of new technologies in BIM.

Their desire to create inspiring environments extends into the office management and structure of the practice. Role & Responsibilities

  • Produce and manage technical design packages across a series of projects from RIBA stages 3 - 7
  • You will be working on rail, regeneration, and higher education projects throughout the UK
  • Candidates will be required to prepare project programmes, write specifications and prepare construction details.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years UK professional working experience
  • ACIAT or MCIAT or working towards
  • Demonstrable experience in transportation or railway infrastructure projects
  • Have a strong design ability
  • Good organisational skills
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of technical detailing skills along with an understanding of modern methods of construction
  • Experience working with 3D Vectorworks is preferable but not essential
  • Experience using Microstation Bentley Software - AecoSim and ProjectWise
  • Good working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and MS Office
  • Thorough working knowledge of UK building regulations
  • Ability to work within a small team, where good communication and coordination is key
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Confident guiding and advising more junior team members
  • A thorough understanding of issues that occur on large scale projects
  • Have a flexible and committed attitude to work
  • The ability to be able to work using your own initiative.
