James Boon Architects is an exciting new architects practice that specialise in conservation and cultural projects, but also contemporary residential projects within historic and sensitive settings. We are based in the Grade I Listed Cromford Mills, set within the heart of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and near to the Peak District National Park.

In a short space of time we have established a variety of clients from private individuals, through building preservation trusts to museums and cultural attractions. We have also won a prestigious RIBA Award and featured on Grand Designs House of the Year. Due to a number of new projects we are looking to grow and so there are exciting opportunities available for enthusiastic and motivated Conservation Architects or Architects with experience of Conservation. The right person, with bundles of enthusiasm and a positive attitude is more important than if you’re an accredited Conservation Architect, but experience of RIBA Workstages 4 onwards on conservation projects is essential. The role will though be varied, and will involve work across all RIBA workstages.

Applicants should display excellent organisation and communication skills with a passion for design. They should also be as comfortable with CAD as they are hand drawing. Experience of Vectorworks is an advantage but not essential. Please apply with your cover letter, CV and concise sample of your work by Friday 25 June 2021.
