This is an excellent opportunity for a degree qualified Principal Designer to join a successful, well established Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy based in Hull.

Our client currently operates through two vibrant offices in Yorkshire, working on a variety of different types of projects across various sectors such as commercial, industrial, petrochemical, Leisure, Marine, Power and Rail. Current workload is heavily biased towards building and plant installation projects and so previous experience in these areas would be beneficial.

With a busy and forward-thinking workload, our client is looking for a Principal Designer to start work in the new year on a permanent basis. In order to be considered for this Principal Designer role you will;

  • Have gained a Degree in a related discipline
  • You will have 5+ years' (or more) experience working in a similar type role
  • Experience working on building and plant installation projects would be beneficial
  • Ideally you will be local to the Yorkshire region
  • Experience in influencing how risks to health and safety are managed throughout a project
  • You will need a driving licence as travel to site will be required on occasion
  • You will have experience working in Consultancy

Working as a Principal Designer you will;

  • Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety in the pre-construction phase.
  • Help and advise the client in bringing together pre-construction information
  • Work with any other designers on the project to eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks to anyone affected by the work and, where that is not possible, take steps to reduce or control those risks
  • Ensure that everyone involved in the pre-construction phase communicates and cooperates, coordinating their work wherever required
  • Liaise with the Principal Contractor keeping them informed of any risks that need to be controlled during the construction phase.
