  • Are you a talented Architect or Architectural Designer, who wants to work for a dynamic Company with bold growth plans?
  • Do you want to be part of a company who not only values its people but rewards them accordingly?

About us

We are Churchill Retirement PLC, the fastest growing company in the UK retirement house building sector.

We’re a family-run, privately-owned business and we’re going places. We’re proud of what we do, and the people we work with. We have ambitious growth plans for the future, now employing over 600 people and growing all the time.

We pride ourselves on building beautiful, quality, purpose-built one and two bedroom apartments in desirable locations across the UK for those looking for an independent lifestyle in later life. Developments are designed to take away all the hassle and fears that can be experienced by older people and provide security, peace of mind and independence.

We’ve won a host of awards; most recently we have been recognised by The Sunday Times as the 2nd Best Company To Work For and in 2016 became the first ever retirement living specialist to have been awarded overall ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ by the WhatHouse? Awards.

About the role

We are recruiting for a talented, ambitious and forward thinking Architect or Architectural Designer to join the design team in our South East Regional office, based in Byfleet, Surrey.

We believe that great design is the foundation of what we do – as a member of our design team you will use your creative skills to produce high quality architecture and to maximise development potential.

You will be involved in scheme designs from feasibility study through to planning permission and beyond, putting forward passionately created idea’s that will meet the criteria of the various internal and external requirements.

It’s the attention to detail that makes the difference and as a member of our design team, you’ll have your work seen and admired by many.

You’ll be working in a busy and exciting commercial environment with a high degree of responsibility and autonomy and you’ll see a number of your designs built each year. You’ll play a key part in the development process, working personally with our land, planning, technical, surveying, construction and sales teams; you’ll also get to see customers enjoy the spaces you designed as their new homes.

About you

You will be passionate about architectural design, and be up to date in all aspects of architectural planning and have a sound knowledge of building and construction.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent design and presentation skills and have a high proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and SketchUP.

You will have excellent analytical skills and will be able to prepare detailed ‘Design and Access Statements’ and assisting with the preparation of planning appeals.

We’d love it if you have previous experience of working in a development business, or from an architect’s office where you’ve had developers as clients.

You will have an eye for great design – and can see ways to overcome potential challenges.

After all – great design is the foundation of what we do!
