Penguin recruitment are delighted to announce we are supporting the UK's leading mixed-tenure developer who specialises in building communities. My client is currently looking for a Planning Manager to join their busy team in Hampshire.

The purpose of this role will be to support and manage planning input required to promote and deliver the company's strategic development sites. The objective is to assist in the identification and promotion of new strategic development and provide advice to the Director.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Support and manage the promotion of strategic development sites through the planning system.
  • Coordinate preparation of planning submissions, including planning applications, EIA's, planning appeals.
  • Prepare Local Plan/LDF and other representations to local authorities.
  • Manage and instruct consultants to an agreed scope of work.
  • Liaise, consult, and negotiate with relevant external organisations, including attendance at public consultation.
  • Provide advice and assistance to colleagues and trainees on planning matters.
  • Monitor Central and Local Government policies, guidance, and advice.

The knowledge and skills required of the successful candidate include:

  • BA/BSc (hons) in Planning related studies and/or Postgraduate diploma.
  • Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
  • 2-3 years' experience in consultancy or development company, demonstrating site appraisals/negotiation/communication skills.
  • Knowledge of planning and legal process.
  • Some public sector experience an advantage.
