Architectural Technologist

Detailed Planning is an expanding architectural design-led practice in North London with a variety of residential and commercial projects across London and the UK. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our vibrant team.

The ideal person should have a building/construction related qualification, such as a University degree in Architectural Technology. We are looking for an individual keen to pursue their professional careers. A positive and proactive ‘can do’ attitude, strong communication skills, great organisational and problem-solving skills are a must.

The successful candidate will assist with the growth of the practice and contribute to expanding their project portfolio. You will be working predominantly on residential properties, along with a number of mixed-use commercial and housing developments. You will be responsible for the preparation of design drawings, planning applications, building regulation drawings and dealing with contractors queries.

Responsibilities

• Site visits/measures
• Preparing preliminary designs
• Advising clients
• Liaising with consultants
• Preparing planning applications
• Writing planning statements
• Preparing building regulation drawings and construction details

Qualities and Skills Required

• Must be highly proficient with AutoCAD (Experience essential)
• The ability to demonstrate strong technical knowledge and construction detailing
• Solid knowledge of UK building regulations and procurement methods
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. These are essential for working with internal teams, external clients and consultants
• The ability to carefully analyse problems in order to generate appropriate solutions
• Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities or more
• In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD
• Excellent organisation skills
• Valid UK driving licence
