Job Details
Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.
The RIBA is a global professional membership body, and a cultural organisation, driving excellence in architecture.
Salary: £31,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience
Location: London (currently home-working due to COVID-19 with return to office in due course)
Hours: 35 hours per week, 6 month fixed-term contract until 24 December 2021
The RIBA is looking for a dynamic and practical Specialist Registrar to support and develop the RIBA’s specialist registers. The role offers an opportunity for the right individual to join an existing team which leads and manages the RIBA’s existing specialist registers – Conservation and Client Adviser – to support and develop those registers, while also working to develop a possible new specialist register for Principal Designers, as proposed under the draft Building Safety Bill.
The role requires strong administrative and problem-solving skills and would suit someone with experience of managing assessment/accreditation processes and procedures. The Specialist Registrar will be required to manage processes and procedures, while also having strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with various internal and external stakeholders.
Experience of the architectural profession is highly desirable, as is experience of conservation and heritage, strategic client advisory work and/or the role of Principal Designer.
The Specialist Registrar role will be split between the two existing registers and the potential new specialist register. In supporting the two existing registers, this role will be a job share with the existing RIBA Specialist Registrar (who currently works 3 days per week). This role will therefore be dedicated at least 2 days per week to the existing registers, but the division of work across the different registers will fluctuate according to the demands of the current business plan.
The RIBA offers colleagues a range of colleague benefits including 26.5 days of annual leave + half-day for Christmas shopping, paid closure between Christmas & New Year, season ticket loan and generous pension scheme. For more details on our benefits click here
