Principal Sustainability Consultant
Location: Oxbridge/home-based
Salary: £45,000 upwards DOE

Penguin Recruitment are pleased to be working with an engineering consultant who is an industry leader in sustainability, construction, and building operation.
This consultancy is looking for a Principal Sustainability Consultant to join their team in the South East and Cambridge area. The role will be home-based, however, they are looking for a candidate that can commute to the Oxford and/or Cambridge office around once a week.
The role:
- Leading building performance simulation and energy related workstreams
- Supporting day to day operations of the team
- Supporting the development of the junior staff
- Working with the other members of the Sustainability Team
- Supporting the development of holistic Sustainability Strategies
- Supporting the team with completion of energy strategies such as BREEAM, WELL etc
- Engaging directly with industry undertaking research and development studies
- Authorising industry guidance
What you will need:
- Experience with and knowledge of Building Regulations Part L assessments using IES and Elmhurst (or similar)
- Experience with energy feasibility studies and environmental design assessments
- Experience with HVAC network modelling
- Experience with in-use energy modelling and assessment
- Experience with PassivHaus
- Experience with Façade performance evaluation
- Experience with thermal modelling
- Experience working within the built environment
- Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience and qualifications
- Positive and friendly demeanour
- Ability to work as part of a team and alone
- Preferred: knowledge of BREEAM or similar
- Preferred: knowledge of and interest in broader sustainability issues
