Are you a tenacious and commercially driven Planner who is looking for their next dynamic and rewarding opportunity in the Planning sector? Penguin Recruitment are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join a well-established, well-regarded, and leading UK Land Promotor in their London office.

You will be taking on new and exciting challenges as part of a dynamic and energetic team and working on projects that range in size and scope from large scale residential and retail units, to industrial and mixed-use developments.

My client holds a reputable status as one of the leading UK Land Promotors and have become one of the largest single suppliers of consented land in the UK housebuilding industry. As well as a renowned Housebuilder, my client is a Master Developer, providing infrastructure to unlock new sites, as well as constructing industrial, office and residential properties.

My client is looking for a planner with 3-6 years' experience, with 2-3 of those years being post RTPI or RICS membership. They are looking for someone who has a Planning degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification. Experience in the following will be beneficial in your application:

  • Private sector planning consultancy, housebuilders, or strategic land promotor experience.
  • Experience managing technical multi-disciplinary and legal teams.
  • Promoting sites through emerging local plans, preparing, and submitting representations including attendance at examinations in public.
  • Managing major planning applications and appeals including attendance at public inquiries.
  • Negotiating with local planning authorities and consultees.

The skills and attributes my client is looking for in a candidate include:

  • Committed and resilient, results focused with a drive to succeed.
  • A team player who enjoys working collaboratively in a team, as well as taking initiative.
  • Organised and capable of working to strict deadlines and financial budgets.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, as well as good project and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel regularly nationwide, with use of own car and licence.

My client is happy to offer the successful applicant a competitive starting salary and an impressive bonus scheme. This package includes private medical insurance, car allowance, flexible working, a long-term staff rewards plan, and a team and environment that is focused on career progression, growth, and passion for planning.
