Architect / Interior Architectural Designer/ Interior Designer

We are currently looking for a talented Designer to join our small team of friendly and dedicated professionals delivering creative, dynamic and high quality Architecture & Interior Design services across the South West – with lots of projects booked ahead we envisage an exciting future.

Job Purpose:

To provide effective and successful design, delivery and day-to-day running of a number of simultaneous projects with responsibility for the design output (including interior design) and client journey from beginning to end, in accordance with the ARB, RIBA or BIID Code of Conduct (depending on qualifications and specialism).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing high quality architectural and interior designs to meet the client brief and vision
  • Developing and delivering design information and managing the inputs of technical and regulatory requirements
  • Developing and delivering design information against the appointed scope of services and budgets
  • Clearly communicating designs and resolving design and technical issues through sketches, mood and material boards, drawings and floor plans
  • Professional and impartial reporting on the project progress
  • Maintaining appropriate and thorough records throughout the project
  • Sourcing appropriate FF&E, managing orders and deliveries to sites. 
  • Developing strong productive relationships with consultants, client and wider design team
  • Delivering projects that are safe, are in the best interests of the natural environment, promote the conservation of energy and the recycling of materials where possible, and enhance the quality of life within the community through design excellence
  • Committing to the continual development of skills through CPD and training [as identified in reviews] and maintains working knowledge of trends and new developments in the interior design world.
  • Promoting the highest possible image of the practice in line with company vision through all spoken, written and drawn information

Key Skills

  • Membership of governing body: ARB and RIBA for Architects or BIID for Interior Designers
  • Degree, Masters or equivalent higher education qualification (RIBA Part 3 essential for Architects).
  • Organised and proficient use of CAD software
  • Thorough technical detailing skills
  • An understanding of UK regulations
  • Responsible for effective time and daily task management commensurate with level of experience
  • Reasonable knowledge of, and abide by, all laws and regulations relating to health and safety as they apply to the design, construction and use of building projects.
  • Natural on-site problem solving abilities
  • Ability to produce final construction level resolution of information
  • Excellent attention to design detail
  • Act competently, conscientiously and responsibly in accordance with your training and apply reasonable standards of skill, knowledge and care in the performance of work
  • Thorough understanding of space and how it is used
  • Ability to report clearly and accurately
  • Excellent spoken, written and drawing (both hand and CAD) communication skills
  • Understanding the applications of sustainable and interior design
