An excellent new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Architectural Technician/ Technologist to join an established architectural and surveying company based near Brogdale, Kent.
You will get the chance to manage a variety of exciting projects particularly across the residential care home and educational sectors from construction stage through to completion.
There are 25 members of staff across all disciplines, with 4 being based in the architectural team. You will be working in a supportive and friendly environment, where career progression is actively encouraged and promoted.
Working as a Senior Architectural Technician/ Technologist you will be:
-Responsible for day to day management and progression of several projects.
-Undertaking measured surveys when required.
-Developing design from client briefs
-In charge of project co-ordination
-Producing and submit valid statutory applications for planning and building regulations.
-Producing large scale technical details, working drawings and tender packages.
-Producing accurate and high-quality outputs
-Sourcing technical information, liaise with technical departments and integrate agreed products and details in to the design
-Ensuring correct application of our quality management systems, procedures, and document control
-Co-ordinating specialist consultants and an awareness of each specialist and how this is applied in the design process.
Essential skills/ qualifications for this Senior Architectural Technician/ Technologist role:
-Minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience
-Relevant Architectural / Construction qualifications. MCIAT desirable, but not essential.
-A high level of written and verbal communication skills
-In depth knowledge of current Building Regulations and the Planning process.
-Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup or other 3D modelling software an advantage.
-Experience of using NBS for specification writing
-An awareness of JCT Contracts, would be beneficial, but is not essential.
-Hand drawing / Sketching skills would be advantageous
-Natural drive to achieve financial targets and hit figures for bonus.
-Possess a passion for good design and providing excellent customer service.
