Brink Architects is a new and exciting architectural studio based in a picturesque rural location.  After an extraordinary start we have built a sound reputation resulting in a diverse portfolio of projects and pipeline work.  2020 was an amazing year for us and we’ve put lockdown to good use.  Our brand new studio is almost ready and the we can’t wait to occupy this space. We are also excited about the opportunity to add to our team and we are now looking for additional members of staff to join us and shape the future of the practice.

The studio currently has a large variety of interesting work including high end residential, commercial, healthcare and retail projects all of which are completed with the following core principles at heart.

About the roles

It is important for us to find the right person to fit into our company culture. It may be that you will be familiar with all or only some of the criteria identified within this advert, but to us the most important factor in a new team member is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and strive for improvement regardless of previous experience.  We are currently looking for an Architect and Architectural Technician. 

The Architect Role

This position will suit an ambitious architect that wants to grow and shape a practice. It may be that you are looking for the next step up in your career or it may be that you find yourself banging your head against a glass ceiling.  

Your Responsibilities (Dependent on experience)

  • You'll be predominantly office based but will also make out of office visits to both clients and sites.
  • Work with the team to continuously review and improve internal process. 
  • Design, detail and run your own projects.
  • Explore new business opportunities with a view to contributing to the practice portfolio.
  • Using a range of different medias to present ideas and designs to staff and clients.
  • You will produce both physical and CAD models to test designs.
  • Visiting proposed locations and building sites to assess site specific constraints and opportunities of projects.
  • Assisting in the resolution of issues that arise during construction.
  • Participating in project management throughout the construction.
  • Being an optimistic natural communicator who is approachable and able to establish good working relationships with clients.

Experience and Requirements

  • RIBA or MCIAT– Required.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations and ability to implement – Required.
  • Experience in the production of drawings with CAD packages – Required.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD – Required.
  • Proficient with Revit – Required.
  • Proficient in Sketch up – Desirable.
  • Proficient in Lumion – Desirable.
  • Good Microsoft Word/Excel – Required.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator / Adobe InDesign / Adobe Photoshop – Required.
  • Have own transport – Required (would be hard to walk here)

The Technician Role

This position will suit an ambitious technician that wants to grow and shape a practice. You will be methodical with a high attention to detail. 

Your Responsibilities (Dependent on experience)

  • You'll be predominantly office based but will also make out of office visits to both clients and sites.
  • Work with the team to continuously review and improve internal process. 
  • Detail and produce clear concise working drawing packages.
  • Use range of different medias to present to staff and clients.
  • Produce CAD models to test designs.
  • Assist in resolving issues that arise during construction.
  • Assist in project management throughout the construction phase.
  • You’ll be an optimistic natural communicator who is approachable and able to establish good working relationships with clients.

Experience and Requirements

  • MCIAT– Desirable.
  • Sound Knowledge of Building Regulations and ability to implement – Required.
  • Experience in the production of drawings with CAD packages – Required.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD – Required.
  • Proficient with Revit – Required.
  • Proficient in Sketch up – Desirable.
  • Proficient in Lumion – Desirable.
  • Good Microsoft Word/Excel – Required.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator / Adobe InDesign / Adobe Photoshop – Required.
  • Proficient in NBS and building specifications - Desirable
  • Have own transport – Required (would be hard to walk here)

Location

Brink studio is located just outside the town of Brackley on the border of three counties; Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. The studio is in an attractive rural setting with ample parking with easy access to M1, M40 and A43.
