ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICIAN/PART II ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for someone that is experienced and competent at stages 3/4 to 7 of the RIBA Plan of Work (residential and commercial projects) to successfully deliver projects.

You will be involved in advising clients, liaising with local planning and building control authorities, liaising with other professionals and consultants, coordinating design information, undertaking site surveys and producing survey drawings, producing building regulation drawings and specifications, production of construction information and specifications, Principal Designer (under CDM2015), ensuring design packages are undertaken in accordance with the Quality Assurance Procedures, updating WorkflowMax and maintaining the project administration plan.

As part of your role your professional subscriptions will be paid for by the company. You will be required to attend CPD events and the company will support you with your professional development. You will also contribute to the wider team and assist and mentor more junior members of the team with the potential for career progression.

Must haves

• ACIAT or RIBA associate member and be prepared to continue with development to achieve full CIAT or RIBA membership

• HND in Construction

• Experienced AutoCAD user

• Experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work effectively, methodically, diligently and to deadlines

• Ability to pay close attention to detail

• Detailed Knowledge of UK Building Regulations

• Working knowledge of UK planning policy

• Ability to lead as well as work as part of a team and independently

• Fluency in written and spoken English              

Nice to haves

• NBS Specification writing

• SAP - OCDEA

• BIM experience

• InDesign

• 3D visuals using SketchUp and rendering software

• Photoshop

• Full RIBA plan of work experience

• Experience of initial client meetings

• Experience and detailed knowledge of UK Planning and production of Planning Packages

•  Full UK Driving License

• BSc Architectural Technology / BA (Hons) Architecture or equivalent

PROJECT LEADER

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for someone that is experienced and competent at all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work (residential and commercial projects) and can undertake the project leader role (both internally and externally) to successfully deliver projects.

You will be involved in advising clients, assistance in the preparation of fee structures, liaising with local planning and building control authorities, liaising with other professionals and consultants, coordinating design information, undertaking site surveys and producing survey drawings, producing initial sketches and feasibility proposals in accordance with the project brief and budget, production of planning packages including relevant documentation, producing building regulation drawings and specifications, production of construction information and specifications, managing the tender process, Principal Designer (under CDM2015) checking design packages prior to issue, ensuring design packages are undertaken in accordance with the Quality Assurance Procedures, updating WorkflowMax, maintaining the project administration plan, keeping the key stakeholders updated with progress and undertaking contract administration.

There will also be the opportunity as the role develops to lead on initial client meetings, initial consultations, brief and budget capture, production of project plans, undertaking public consultations and representing a parish and planning committee meetings.

As part of your role your professional subscriptions will be paid for by the company. You will be required to attend CPD events and the company will support you with your professional development. You will work closely with the Office Manager leading on delivery of projects and managing client expectations and lead and mentor the team with the potential for progression through to team leader and associate directorship.

Must haves

• MCIAT/ARB

• RIBA Registration (can follow)

• 3-5 years post qualification experience

•Strong design skills both conceptually and technical with proven ability to interpret the client’s brief

• Experienced AutoCAD user

• Experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite
