Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.

The RIBA is a global professional membership body, and a cultural organisation, driving excellence in architecture.

Salary: £31,000 – £38,000 per annum depending on experience and base location

Location: Flexible, with travel to London office when required

Hours: 35 hours per week, 12 months fixed term contract

Right now, everything is digital, from our office set-up to our social interactions – there’s never been a better time to work in digital content. And at the Royal Institute of British Architects, we have an exciting opportunity to be part of our in-house Content team.

Do you have a passion for digital content design? Are you a champion of the user and their needs? Are you powered by data and audience research? Can you advise, influence and collaborate with subject matter experts to create excellent content?

If so, you’re just who we’re looking for.

We need someone who can work with colleague 'stakeholders' to produce briefs for content projects and identify the best content solutions for both user needs and business objectives.

As Content Lead, you will triage and manage complex requests, align with organisational priorities and delegate work to Content Editors within the team. You will be responsible for content management: production, standards, upskilling staff and coaching our Content Editors in best-practice digital content design.

You will advise on UX design, addressing website structure and information architecture to keep our content organised and in the right place for users and for SEO.

Your role will be to respond to identifiable user behaviour and implement these improvements continuously. In addition, you will use user-centred content design and plain language to make sure we adhere to accessibility and inclusivity standards.

You will work closely with colleagues in the wider digital and communications teams, using your content planning, design and production skills on a range of content projects. The Content team collaborates right across the organisation and beyond the UK to collate requests and plan new initiatives, and to provide training to encourage all our contributors to improve their content.

We’re looking for someone who has worked in digital content design and management and is familiar with prioritising multiple incoming requests.

This role is crucial in managing and guiding the content and editorial decisions of a very busy team so that we can keep the content production process moving despite a high volume of work. It would suit someone who learns fast, thrives on hard work and knows the value of emotional intelligence to maintain a happy and productive team.

The RIBA offers employees a range of staff benefits including 26.5 days of annual leave + half-day for Christmas shopping, paid closure between Christmas & New Year, season ticket loan and generous pension scheme. For more details on our benefits click here

If you would like to apply for the position, please submit your CV and covering letter using the form below. Additionally, please ensure that you complete our Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form which will be submitted separate from your application.
