Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum depending on experience (full time equivalent)

Location: Homeworking / London

Hours: 28 hours per week, 6 month fixed term contract (hours per week negotiable)

The RIBA is looking for a Sustainable Development Adviser with construction industry professional with experience in delivering sustainable buildings. You will be responsible for coordinating projects relating to climate action and sustainable development in the construction industry, with a focus on sustainability and design quality programme, managing the delivery of key RIBA and industry-wide projects

During the 6 month contract you will develop guidance for members on sustainability and coordinate the RIBA’s contribution to a significant cross industry project, overseen by the Construction Leadership Council, to embed whole-life value and sustainable building performance in the construction procurement process. One of your key responsibilities will be to facilitate groups of relevant industry experts to gather and evaluate the latest knowledge.

You will have a track record of successful project delivery as well as experience of applying detailed expertise on sustainability, construction and operation of buildings as well as other technical matters and be skilled at communicating your knowledge to stakeholders. You will have demonstrable experience of working in a construction industry and possess the ability to evaluate complex information and exercise sound judgement in reaching conclusions. Experience of working with Microsoft applications, databases (CRM), data analysis and web editing is desirable.
