Senior/ Associate Architect - Surrey

A renowned Architecture company are opening a new office in Surrey and are currently seeking a Senior/Associate Architect for a key role in the growth of the business. You will have the tenacity to develop in a fast-paced environment and the experience to manage large-scale residential developments.

The practice was founded over 40 years ago and currently employ over 60 staff, they have found great commercial success in largescale residential and retirement projects. Currently they employ an award-winning team of architects, urban designers, technologists, graphic designers and sustainability consultants. Recent awards include "Housing Design Award" and "Design Quality Award".

Due to the growing nature of the UK Housing Industry and the practice's ongoing success, there is a requirement for a Senior or Associate level Architect to take on a leadership role within the organisation. This is a strategic position with a projected start date of February 2020, to coincide with the opening of the new office.

Role & Responsibilities

• Reporting to the project director
• Front-end job running up to RIBA stage 4, then handover to the Technical team
• Preparing and presenting design proposals and planning applications
• Creation of detailed drawings, including to sketch layouts and produce masterplans for circa 10 - 500 unit developments
• Team and client management, including liaising with a range of contractors and other industry specialists
• Providing advice at feasibility and planning stages as well as post-construction
• The opportunity for business development and growth of own client base
• Site travel and management as required.

Required Skills & Experience

• ARB Registered Architect, with a minimum of 5 years UK experience (RIBA chartership would be beneficial)
• Fluent use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Revit experience would be desirable
• Background in volume house-building or working with Developers would be ideal
• Demonstrable portfolio of hand drawing/sketching is a definite requirement
• Strong design flair - especially sketch design of residential housing
• Evidence of client liaison and management, and a good commercial awareness
• Ideally will have knowledge and understanding of traditional design and detailing
