Job Details

Modece Architects are seeking a fully qualified Architect or Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join the team in early 2020. We are a small award winning practice based in Stowmarket, Suffolk. We work on a range of projects including residential, community, commercial and multi-use. Current projects include a rural co-housing scheme set around a vicarage being converted into a social hub; the conversion of Southwold hospital into a community centre and affordable housing; and many bespoke eco-dwellings for private clients.

We specialise in highly sustainable buildings and the use of eco friendly natural building materials - be it for a renovation of a historic building or a contemporary new build.

We are also expanding into procuring our own developments in which we intend to deliver the highest standard of truely sustainable buildings with design at the forefront of all decision making.

Any prospective member of the team will share our values while having a desire to push the boundaries of Architecture.

Company

We coined the phrase ‘deep green architecture' - using materials with the lowest possible embodied energy and serviced by carbon neutral systems. Our architecture responds to seasonal weather variations and climate change using simple design principles such as orientation, mass, solar shading and natural ventilation. Use of natural materials allows us to create comfortable, healthy and beautiful buildings for people to live and work in. In short, our buildings lift your spirits and sit lightly on the earth.
